On Thursday 22nd of February, our 2nd and 1st year boys basketball teams went up against Malahide Community School.
Alex Mitchell had an impressive game running the offence for DCC. Kevin O’Leary also played great with multiple trips to the free throw line. Donabate fought hard but found themselves down 7-24 at half time.
After the half time break Donabate showed great determination and were able to outscore Malahide in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Unfortunately this wasn’t enough and the result didn’t go the boys way but we are very proud of their performance.
Unfortunately, it was more of the same for the first years as they also suffered defeat to Malahide Community School. The lads showed real determination and never gave up but it just wasn’t their day. Kevin O’Leary, Alfie Shaw and Daniel Quinn all played well but it wasn’t enough to stop an excellent Malahide team.
As always, we are very proud of the boy’s performance despite the unfortunate results. Thanks to Mr Byrne and Ms Gallagher for all their work.
