U15 Leinster Champions League Final Reuslt: DCC 1-4 St Michael’s College.

Not our day today as the lads fall to defeat to a very good Michael’s side. We started slowly conceding in the first five minutes as nerves set in. Despite this, the lads battled well with Sam Bukovec and Lucas O’Dowd getting on plenty of ball.

As we grew into the game, our deserved equaliser came just before the break as Tom McMahon whipped a beautiful ball to Daniel Shalapay at the back post who buried it on the volley. 1-1 at HT.

Unfortunately that’s as good as it got, as a slow start to the second half saw us concede two goals in five minutes to take the wind out of our sails. We huffed and puffed over the next half an hour, going close on three occasions but the southsiders sealed the win with a late goal.

Hard luck to our lads, who had already won their North East Leinster Conference title to move into this Leinster competition, where they came through a quarter and semi final, so they should be extremely proud of themselves of a positive year. No doubt they’ll be back next year!
