With the already booming success of the revived DCC Athletics Club this year thanks to the brilliant work of Dr. Cooke, there is more good news stories coming this week from the finals of the Leinster Track and Field competition in Morton Stadium, Santry.
On Wednesday, three of our students (Suzie, Sineád, and Michelle) were representing the school in the following senior competitions:
Suzie was racing in the 100m, Sineád in the 3000m and Michelle was competing in the javelin. Here’s how they got on, thanks to Dr. Cooke for the report.
“Michelle threw a personal best (PB) in senior javelin and finished with a bronze medal in 3rd place.
Suzie finished in a very respectable 4th in the 100m senior girls and Sineád finished 6th in the highly competitive 3,000m senior girls.
Well done to all our athletes and best of luck to Leah Hubert, Eliza Hussaen and Liam Handley who are competing in the Junior events on Saturday in Santry.”
