Donabate Community College – 0

Lusk Community College – 5

On Monday the 15th of January Donabate CC took on Lusk CC in a semi-final in Ballymastone.

The game was very scrappy in the opening moments of the game, but it was Lusk that broke the deadlock after 20 minutes.

Despite Jamie Neville’s best efforts in goal, Lusk added a second just before half time to give Donabate a mountain to climb going into the second half.

Darragh Brogan came closest in the second half for Donabate with a volley that was excellently tipped over the bar by the Lusk goalkeeper.

Unfortunately for the home side, DCC could not get back into contention as Lusk continued to rack up their goals scoring a further three to send Donabate out of the cup at the semi-final stage.

The good news is they still qualify for a Shield final – date, time and venue to be confirmed. Hard luck to the team and thanks to Mr Kelly and Mr Dowling who have been looking after the team. We wish you every success with the Shield Final!

DCC Team: Jamie Neville, Thomas Walsh, Conor Moore (C), Oscar Donohoe, Jonathan Oreilly, Clyde Burke, JJ Moore, Alex Coogan, James Lawless, Darragh Brogan, Brian Stenson, Adam Conroy, Callum Gilchrist, Darragh Fitzgerald.
